New Purchase!
Another Mighty Leaf Tea…                                                               This time in Chocolate Mint Truffle.                                                     It’s a really good winter flavor.                                                    I hope you can find and enjoy!                                       ...

Sweet Tooth Alert!
When there’s a celebration going on at my family’s house, it is very likely that Chantilly cake will be had by all. We got them in little individual sizes for my mom’s birthday this year. So yum!! Fresh fruit is the best way to top this goodness off : ]

Dinner Recipe: Sideline Tortilla Soup
(This dish was created using a recipe from the March/April 2010 issue of Sandra Lee’s Semi-Homemade magazine.) This is a really simple soup to make, and it’ll taste so good in your tummy on a chilly fall/winter night! It’s not a thick or heavy soup, like some tortilla soups can tend to be. It’s actually pretty light, considering all the stuff that goes into it. Overall,...

My Guilty Pleasures
Crunchy Cheddar Jalepeño Cheetos …because I just can’t even help myself. I eat and eat and eat them… convince myself I’m not going to do it anymore… and then I eat some again. This is a junk food I continually fall short for… I probably shouldn’t even allow them in my house.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things!
Tazo Green Tea Latte Concentrate …I’ve been waking up to these on many a morning, and it hits the spot every time. All you do is add some milk and go. You can put it on ice, or you can even heat it up. So yum! (If you’ve never tried Matcha before, the taste might be quite new to you. Give yourself a couple of tries to get used to it, and I think...

Latest Recipe Tried: Morning Race Smoothie
I found this recipe in an issue of Shape magazine. Rather than post all my normal stuff, including ratings and all, I figured I’ll just post the pictures from the magazine up here and let you try it for yourself!                                               Here are some things I will say: -I usually cannot stand coconut water! I have tried to get myself to like it so many times,...

Dinner Recipes: Roasted Tilapia with Black Bean...
You’re getting a two-for-one special here, people! I’m telling you how I made the fish and the peppers all in one fell swoop! This was a really easy and delicious meal, and I really think you’ll enjoy it. Put it on your table in less than an hour’s time! I give this mouth-watering meal: 4.32 out of 5 spoons.  How Many Calories Are We Looking At Per Serving?: less than...

Dessert Recipe: Blue Moon Cupcakes
This was my first attempt at a cupcake made with beer. Let’s just say I was very pleasantly surprised. Just like Blue Moon, these cupcakes have the perfect amount of orange. It’s very subtle and delicious. And the taste of beer does not overwhelm your taste buds one bit. These cupcakes are so light and fluffy, and so simple! I give them: 4.61 out of 5...

Latest Recipe Tried: Fettuccine Alfredo
I got most of this recipe from the 2011 “Cooking for Two” magazine put out by America’s Test Kitchen.  This a lighter, smaller version of the classic Italian recipe. Heavy butter and cream won’t be issues here. This Fettuccine Alfredo has fewer calories and less fat but still boasts all of the desired rich and cheesy flavor. I’d give it: 3.92 out of 5 spoons.  How...

What I Ate for Dinner: May 30, 2012
HOMEMADE PITA PIZZAS This is what I did with some leftover pita bread I still had from the chicken burgers I made the other night. I layered them with mozzarella cheese with some uncured pepperoni slices on top of a bed of organic pizza sauce. I simply put them in the oven at 300 degrees for a little while, and VOILA! You can really make...

Latest Recipe Tried: Chicken Burger in Pita with...
(I created this recipe myself, based on ideas from several recipes I found on my own via the internet.)   These burgers are extremely easy to make! They are also pretty inexpensive. You probably already have most of these spices at home, so all you need to buy is some ground chicken, a couple of vegetables, some pita bread, and yogurt. Like I said, so easy! You can adapt these any which way...

Lunch Recipe: Spinach Salad with Strawberries
Super simple lunch for when you’re running low on time. Also a super light lunch for when you feel like you don’t want to weigh yourself down with something heavy. Super healthy lunch for when you’ve eaten way too many pieces of fried chicken this week. (This one didn’t really come from anywhere special. I sort of adapted the recipe from things I already knew on my own.)...
